Willis High School Students Only
Willis ISD will provide high school students with devices for digital learning for the 2024-2025 school year. Students will be able to take the assigned device home, as needed, to complete required instructional assignments. Regardless of whether the device is taken home or not, each student will be assigned a device and will be fully responsible for it during the duration of the school day/year.
General Guidelines
Students are given a device to complete their required instructional assignments and the device should be used for this purpose only. Any unauthorized or unlawful use is prohibited, including any type of “hacking” or reverse engineering of the device and any of its policies and/or software.
Students should expect no privacy while using a Willis ISD-issued device. At any time, Willis ISD reserves the right to monitor the device for insights such as general internet usage, email, messaging, and search history.
All devices are property of Willis ISD and Willis reserves the right to demand the immediate return of the device at any time, for any reason. In the event that a student withdraws and leaves the district, the assigned device and all of its peripherals are to be returned to the assigned campus. Devices not returned at the end of the school year or when a student transfers/withdraws from a campus may be considered stolen. The district may involve legal authorities in recovering district property and theft charges may be filed.
Daily Expectation
If a student takes a device home, it must be returned to school the following day with a full battery charge to be used for instructional purposes. Failure to do so could result in the loss of the privilege of taking the device home.
The assigned device is expected to be used only by the student and should only be used for instructional purposes. Students and parents should not use the device for personal benefit and/or use.
Disclaimer
Willis ISD has multiple protective technologies in place to limit exposure to harmful and inappropriate content. However, even with such measures in place, questionable content may still be accessible to students. While we make every effort to prevent this, we do not control search engines and/or private websites and their hosts.
