Willis ISD is happy to welcome Randi Gay as Director of Special Education. Gay most recently served as Director of Special Education in Shepherd ISD. During this time, she helped to identify district and departmental needs and was an integral part of the district's turnaround team. Prior to this role, Gay spent 15 years as a school psychologist and special education coordinator in Montgomery ISD, supporting special education and Section 504.
Gay holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and an advanced degree as a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP). Her colleagues have described her as “smart, fair, dedicated and trustworthy.” Gay is excited to utilize these qualities and her knowledge of the field to serve the students and families of Willis ISD.

Additionally, Lisa Long, diagnostician for Willis ISD, has been promoted to Assistant Director of Special Education. Long has been with the district since 2018.
