Judge Wayne Mack of Montgomery County Justice of the Peace Precinct 1 conducted a swearing-in ceremony for elected Willis ISD Board of Trustee members during a special board meeting held on Nov. 30, 2022.

Board of Trustee Election Results
Unofficial results from the Montgomery County Elections show the following winners for the Willis ISD Board of Trustees Election held November 8, 2022: Position 1-Nikita Lagway; Position 3-Scott Carson; Position 4-Kyle Hoegemeyer; Position 5-Cliff Williams. Votes will be canvassed on Nov. 18, 2022 at a time yet to be determined.

We are thrilled to announce that Willis ISD has partnered with Paper to provide ALL 3rd through 12th grade students with free, 1-on-1 tutoring and writing support. WHS Marching Band Advances to Area
The Willis High School Marching Band competed at the Region 9 UIL Regional Competition recently and scored all 1’s, earning them a Sweepstakes award. They will now compete in the UIL Area F Marching Band Contest on Saturday, Oct. 29 at Galena Park ISD Athletic Stadium at 2:45 pm.

Sara Goolsby Named Assistant Superintendent of Innovation, Teaching & Learning
Willis ISD is proud to announce that Sara Goolsby has been promoted to Assistant Superintendent of Innovation, Teaching & Learning for Willis ISD. She previously served the district as the Executive Director of Secondary Education. Goolsby replaces Brian Greeney, who departed Willis ISD last week. Goolsby joined Willis ISD as the Willis High School Dean of Curriculum in 2016. Click headline to read more.

Willis ISD Trustees Set Tax Rate
At the Board of Trustees meeting held August 17, 2022, Trustees voted to set the tax rate for the 2022-23 school year. The maintenance and operations tax rate is set at $.8546 and the debt service tax rate is set at $1.1546 for a total tax rate of $1.1546. This is lower than the prior year tax rate.
