Not Allowed:
1. Gum or candy of any type. (unless given by teacher or counselor)
2. Hats
- Baseball, cowboy hats, doo-rags, visors, etc.
3. Certain hairstyles
- Hair needs to be out of eyes or hair tie will be required to hold hair back.
- NO distracting hair colors, designs, styles, etc.
- NO designs or cuts shaved into the hair or eyebrows, you will need to fill the eyebrow PRIOR to arriving on campus. USE WATERPROOF. EYELINER/EYEBROW PENCIL to fill in eyebrows so that it stays on all day.
- NO designs or edging in hair
- Hair ties will be worn in the hair or thrown away.
- ONLY black, gray, or white hair ties or headbands can be worn.
- NO distracting colored hair accessories, including barrettes, bows, ribbons, etc.
- Facial hair shall be well groomed.
4. Jewelry/Make-up/Fingernails
- NO Jewelry.
- This includes ALL body piercings. (NO CLEAR SPACERS)
- If jewelry is worn/brought, the items will be kept until the end of the student’s placement or released to the parent/guardian.
- NO make-up can be brought or worn, NO combs/brushes, or mirrors.
- NO painted, designed, artificial/fake or colored fingernails (natural nails ONLY).
- NO false eyelashes.
5. Backpacks or bags/school supplies/purses/wallets.
6. Jackets, sweaters, pullover sweatshirts, hoodies, etc.
7. Cell Phones
- If a cell phone is brought it will be kept until the end of the student’s placement or released to the parent/guardian.
8. Tattoos
- Must be covered by clothing or band aides at all times. You must provide the coverings.
- NO writing on the body or clothes
Transportation
- Transportation is NOT provided by Willis I.S.D.
- You may drop off your student between 7:15 a.m.-7:25 a.m. (After 7:25 they are tardy)
- You are responsible for arranging transportation for your student, this includes dropping off and picking them up from Stubblefield.
- Students are NOT ALLOWED to drive or walk to or from DAEP themselves.
- To pick up and drop off your student you will need to follow the car rider line around the building.
- We will load one student at a time, as each car pulls through the car rider line.
- NO parking, you must use the car rider line when school is dismissed.
Meals
- All students have access to healthy, nutritious, balanced meals.
- Breakfast is served from 7:15-7:25 a.m.
- Breakfast and Lunch are provided to students at regular home campus cost. If a student qualifies for the Free/Reduced lunch program, he/she will continue to receive this service. If they have money in their school account, they will be able to utilize it.
- Students may bring a lunch. Students must give lunch brought from home to the front office staff for inspection upon arrival on campus each morning. All non-packaged food should be individually wrapped in a clear, see-through Ziplock bag. The entire lunch should be in a gallon Ziplock bag with the student’s name and grade on it. We can send the Ziplock bags home to reuse (upon request).
- Students are only allowed to bring money needed for lunch account.
- As a courtesy to parents, DAEP will inform parents if their child is in possession of excessive amounts of money and the money will be taken up. Money will not be returned to the student, a parent must pick it up.
Students ARE ALLOWED to bring the following items:
1. Sandwiches
2. Fresh fruit/vegetables
3. Crackers (plain, peanut butter and cheese filled)
4. ONLY Bottled Water (must be in the original container unopened).
5. Single serving size bag of chips (limit 2 small bags)
6. Granola Bars (NO chocolate in the granola bars)
Students are NOT ALLOWED to bring the following items:
1. Cookies, candy, etc.
2. Pastries (twinkies, jelly rolls, cake, pie, etc.)
3. Fast food
4. Drink enhancer packets
5. Carbonated drinks, sodas, flavored Water, juices, gatorades or Capri Suns
NO FOOD OR DRINKS WILL BE TAKEN HOME OR SAVED FOR THE NEXT DAY.
Dress Code All students are REQUIRED to wear the following:
Plain black collared polo shirt
- NO writing, pockets, or pictures on the Polo, but a small manufacturer’s logo (1” or smaller) is permitted.
- Shirts must be tucked in AT ALL TIMES, with belt showing.
- ONLY ONE long or short sleeved shirt (plain white, gray or black) may be worn underneath the collared polo and no writing/images can be visible on the sleeves.
- NO long sleeve sweatshirts, thin hoodies or sweaters under the collared shirt.
- NO visible undergarments.
- Girls: NO cleavage (campus staff determines acceptability).
- Collars down.
- Arms shall be completely through the shirt sleeves AT ALL TIMES.
ONLY Khaki Relaxed fit UNIFORM slacks/pants
- Pants must be fitted at the waist and crotch.
- Pants MUST have belt loops for belts.
- Pants MUST be to the ankle when standing and NO shorter.
- NO shorts, baggy/saggy pants, capris, low rise or extremely tight pants.
- NO leggings or jeggings.
- NO athletic shorts or shorts with pockets, long johns or compression leggings may be worn under pants.
- NO rolled up or cuffed pants.
- NO elastic at the ankle of your pants.
- NO distressed fabric, HOLES, TEARS, bleach spots, logos, frayed, etc.
- NO cargo pants with multiple pockets on the sides of them.
- NO side pockets on pants.
Shoes:
- Tennis Shoes (with laces) MUST BE SECURELY TIED at all times. The student’s heel should NOT come out of their shoe when they are walking. (NO stickers, tags or writing on shoes)
Belt:
- Belt should be normal thickness, brown, gray or black only. NO large buckles, studs, decorations, bling or inappropriate logos on belt or buckle.
