Willis ISD is thrilled to announce a pay increase for all CDL bus drivers that will go into effect on January 6, 2025!
Current CDL bus drivers will see a $1.25 per hour increase, and new drivers will see a $1.25 per hour base rate increase from $19.27 per hour to $20.52 per hour (prior bus driving experience is taken into consideration). Part-time bus drivers will see a rate increase from $16.50 per hour to $20.52 per hour. Additionally, new hire training will be increased from $10.00 per hour to $20.52 per hour.

Attention: Private Nonprofit Schools Public Notice for Availability of Equitable Services for Private Nonprofit Schools Action Requested: Contact Willis ISD Deadline: February 20, 2025 Information: FEDERAL REQUIREMENT Your private nonprofit school may be eligible to receive educational services from the Federal Title programs under Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) for the 2025-2026 school year. Willis ISD will provide services to eligible students attending private elementary and secondary schools in accordance with Sec. 8501 (Participation of Children Enrolled in Private Schools), and timely, ongoing, and meaningful consultation with private school officials regarding such services [P.L. 114-95]. |

Willis ISD is proud to announce that Dr. Gerald Schattle has been named Principal of Homer C. Calfee Middle School, which will welcome students in August 2025.
Dr. Schattle joins Willis ISD from Aldine ISD, where he most recently served as Director of Transportation. From 2017 to 2024, he served as Principal of Teague Middle School and a disciplinary alternative placement school. Before that, he was an Assistant Principal for five years. Dr. Schattle began his career in education as a paraprofessional, teacher, and coach, gaining hands-on experience in multiple aspects of student development.
