Mr. Brian C. Kennedy - Extension 7537

Greetings fellow Wildkats,

My name is Brian Kennedy and I am new to Wills ISD. Though new here, I am not new to teaching. I have been a teacher for 13 years and have taught Criminal Justice through all of them (as well as Professional Communications, Credit Recovery and Career Preparation). I began teaching in 2004 after retiring from Law Enforcement as a County Investigator in Monroe County in Pennsylvania (I am originally from Philadelphia).

While in Law Enforcement after graduating from the Gerald Monahan Police Academy I worked as a Patrol Officer, Patrol Sergeant and as an Investigator. I spent a short period of time on a regional tactical tem as well. I was the recipient of 2 Police Meritorious Service awards, a Good Conduct Award, a Tactical Operator Citation and an Academy Instructor Unit Citation. I was also a Master at Arms Second Class in the U.S. Navy Reserve from 2001 through 2006.

Throughout my teaching career I have co-chaired a committe for the Arizona Workforce Development/TIVA partnership to establish a statewide assessment for Criminal Justice, been the 2011 Arizona SkillsUSA Advisor of the Year, Cofounder of the Elgin, TX Police Explorer Post and the Pinal County, AZ Sheriff's Department Explorer Post. I continue to educate myself through ongoing educaton in various post secondary schools. I hold a Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice and a Bachelors of Arts in Communication and will be starting my Masters Program at UNT in Educational Leadership.

I live in Huntsville with my wife and 5 dogs in the middle of the pine woods and spend some of my free time cooking, and recording music in my home studio.
