Degrees and Certifications:

Miss Rachel King

Hello! My name is Rachel King and I teach AP and dual credit mathematics courses, as well as coach softball, at Willis HS. This is my first year at WHS, but I have been a full-time mathematics professor at Northern Essex Community College in Massachusetts since September 2015. Before that, I was a full-time mathematics professor at McNeese State University (MSU) in Louisiana for 5 years. I have taught many college courses, including Foundations of Algebra, Applied Mathematics, Mathematical Ideas I and II, Quantitative Reasoning, Statistics, PreCalculus, and Calculus I.
I was born and raised in Willis. I played many sports in high school, including volleyball, basketball, softball, and track. I was recruited to play college softball as a catcher at MSU. I hold a Bachelor's and Master’s degree in Mathematics from that institution.
I still play softball for a travel team out of New England. Staying active and working out is important to me. Travelling is my favorite hobby. I have been to 29 states and 22 countries. Whether it’s a weekend away somewhere local or a longer trip abroad, visiting new places has become one of the main focuses in my life. I love trying new foods, seeing new sites, and experiencing new cultures and its people.
I look forward to getting to know and work with you this semester! Please contact me with any questions!
