Mrs. Johnson

Sweet Summertime!
Get ready, get set, because here we go.
You’re ready for summer fun, that’s what I know.
I will miss you as my students each and every day,
You would stay in my class if I had it my way.
There’s one important thing I beg you to do.
Have fun, relax, but make some school time too.
I’m asking you to take just a little time out,
To do some reviewing sometime throughout.
It’s important to start next year off strong,
And prove that this new grade is just where you belong.
I will be missing you each and every day,
Hoping everything this summer goes your way.
We have to say goodbye,
This year really did fly right by.
I have watched you grow, and I’m so proud of you,
I hope that you are proud of your success, too.
Have a safe summer and remember what you have learned,
This free time for you is surely something earned!
HAPPY SUMMER TO YOU!

Love, Mrs. Johnson

Mrs. Johnson graduated from Sam Houston State University in 2009 with a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies and minor in Early Childhood Development. She is currently pursuing her M.Ed Educational Administration from Lamar University. She is a certified teacher for self-contained Pre K-4th grade and also holds her ESL and SPED certification.  This is her 13th year teaching. She has taught at Madisonville CISD and Huntsville ISD.  She has been a mentor teacher to Methods students from Sam Houston State University.

Mrs. Johnson and her husband got married in December 2018. They have 3 daughters, one who is 11 and is a 6th grader at Brabham Junior High; one who is 8 and in 3rd grade at Meador; and one that is 2 years old. Mrs. Johnson loves teaching and looks forward to many more years with Willis ISD and the amazing students that attend our schools.

Here is my WHY....

Ever since I was a little girl, I knew I wanted to become a teacher. My mother was a teacher/administrator and of course I wanted to be just like her. My philosophy of education is that all children are unique and that they require a stimulating educational environment where they can grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. It is my desire to create the type of classroom atmosphere where students can meet their full potential. I have discovered that by sharing my passion for teaching and learning and using diverse teaching strategies with enthusiasm and empathy, I can build an effective support network for students between school and home. I believe that learning can and should be fun and that students who are active participants learn much more than those largely passive. I strive each day as an educator to make sure that every child KNOWS that they matter and are capable of amazing things...No matter what!
