Mrs. Paula Smith
Mrs. Paula Smith has been teaching at Meador for 7 years. She has taught in both private and public schools for more than 30 years. She attended Sam Houston State University and earned a degree in Elementary Education with endorsement in Special Education. She also had extensive Dyslexia training in three programs: Neuhaus, Wilson, and Dyslexia Intervention Program (DIP). Each program provides keys in helping students develop effective reading strategies.
Mrs. Smith and her husband Charles have five grown children. They moved to Willis 24 years ago when her husband became the pastor of a local church. Two of their children graduated from Willis High School and three from Covenant Christian School. All of their children and their children’s spouses have degrees from the following universities: Sam Houston State, East Texas Baptist, Howard Payne, Texas A&M, Purdue, Howard Payne, Mary Hardin Baylor, and Valparaiso. With various degrees come various careers; teacher, coach, lawyers, Professor, counselors, computer program developer, music minister, register nurse and of course being mommies and daddies to 14 of the sweetest grandchildren. Mrs. Smith uses “Whole Brain Teaching” in her classroom and desires to have a class full of the joy of learning. Our class goal is to have Glorious Kindness in all our thoughts and deeds.
