Coursework for English IV will be completed through Edmentum. Every Monday I will assign a new unit for that week. Students should only spend 30 minutes to an hour two days a week working on English IV assignments.  I will be checking student progress daily to unlock tests and answer messages that have been sent through Edmentum.

My online tutorials will be every Monday mornings from 11am-12pm. I will be emailing a link to students through their emails and through Edmentum.

The best way to get updates is through Canvas under the "Announcements" tab.  Right now, I am making announcements daily. I will also be making a weekly tutorial reminder announcement.

Students are welcome and encouraged to email me at at any time if they are struggling.

Welcome to English IV (2019-2020)

Welcome to an exciting and last year of English!  This is the beginning of my 23rd year of teaching and my 18th year at Willis High School.  I graduated from Huntsville High School and then graduated from Sam Houston State University in 1995. My daughter is a senior at Willis High School, so I understand how busy and stressful this last year can be.

I am super excited to have your student in my class.  While English IV is a chronological study of British Literature, students will also work toward College and Career Readiness. This will include communicating effectively (both verbal and written communications), thinking critically, and using problem solving skills to better help them succeed in their chosen pathway after high school. Senior year is an incredibly busy year.  It is important students attend school and see me promptly if they are falling behind.

I am currently the class sponsor for 2020. If your student needs to pay their class dues, they can see me in Room B108. Dues must be paid by December 16th. After that day, prom tickets and the senior picnic will be full price. Prom will be May 16th at the Woodlands Resort and Conference Center.

I have an open door policy.  If I am here, students are welcome to come and see me.  I have morning tutorials at 6:30 and I am available until 3:15 every day.  Please encourage your student to see me if they are struggling.
