Willis ISD Communications supports the instructional goals of our campuses by promoting a positive, caring, educational climate that facilitates communications between and among students, staff, parents, and the community. The award-winning department utilizes multiple venues to create awareness of district policies, communicate the outstanding achievements of our students, increase parental and community engagement, and foster public trust and understanding. Primary responsibilities include:
Media Relations—issue press releases and coordinate responses to media requests. All media inquiries should be directed to this office at 936-856-1217 or firstname.lastname@example.org. If it is an emergency, you can reach Jamie on her cell phone at 830-459-6018.
District and Campus Websites—develop and manage content; provide training to campus and departmental webmasters.
Publications—District Dynamics District Newsletter; Brochures; Flyers; Special District Publications
Video Production—film, edit, and create content to highlight various programs, campus and district messages, and staff and student achievements for our Video Gallery and other venues.
Community Meetings—publicize, promote, organize, and facilitate the presentation of district updates and information to a diverse array of school and community stakeholders.
Crisis Communication—use multiple media to keep the community informed in the event of a weather or other emergency including the district website, Facebook, Twitter, and the SchoolReach automated phone message service.
