The new year is an excellent time to think about updating your child’s immunizations for the next school year. It’s especially important if you have a child that is 4 years old entering Pre-K or Kindergarten, a child entering 7th grade, or a junior/senior in high school.

The Christus Healthy Living Mobile Clinics is offering FREE immunizations in Conroe and New Caney starting January 23 and continuing throughout the year. Please click headline for more information.

The Texas Department of State Health Services establishes the minimum vaccination requirements for students in grades K-12. To learn more, visit https://www.dshs.texas.gov/immunize/school/school-requirements.aspx.

PreK and kindergarten students will have to have their immunization records to register for school. All immunizations must be current. It is important they have their 4 year old shots. Out of State students must also bring their current immunization record.
All 7th graders must have a Tdap (tetanus/pertussis) booster, 2 Varicella vaccines, and meningitis vaccine prior to attending school. Letters were sent out to parents in January and May. Call outs were also done.
PreK - 8th should have 2 doses of Hepatitis A. Most of our students have these vaccines but we have found that out of state students frequently do not have this vaccine.
If a conscientious objection exemption is used, we must have the original exemption form from the State of Texas at the time of enrollment. The exemption must be renewed every 2 years. Current students with exemption will have to provide a current exemptions.  We must have exemption in hand prior to registering.
