WISD’s Most Valuable Player for July 2015 Finds Positive Solutions

“Tracey not only manages the logistics of the entire kitchen area, but also works side by side with her wonderful staff to ensure that we have everything we need for breakfast and have a pleasant experience at lunch,” stated Meador Principal Nan Seith.

A 10-year veteran of the Willis ISD Nutrition Department, Pope was voted Manager of the Year in 2015 and 2011, and Employee of the Year in 2007. She began as a child nutrition specialist in 2005 and became a cafeteria manager in 2009.

“Tracey is the employee who strives to learn it all,” explained her supervisor, Debbie Dutton, referencing the training requirements of the position.

Child Nutrition Director, Deborah Humphreys adds that Tracey is full of energy and always at the top of her game. “If something needs attention, she will take care of it.”

Both Humphreys and Seith admire her care and concern for students and her staff.

“I really love working for Willis ISD because I enjoy seeing the students’ smiling faces and making sure they are fed nutritious, safe meals,” explained Pope.

The next MVP Award will be presented at the regular meeting of the WISD Board of Trustees on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at 6:00 pm in the Cargill Education Center, 204 West Rogers in Willis.
