I have a Bachelors of Arts degree (1989) in Elementary Education with a minor in Special Education from Sam Houston State University and a Masters in School Counseling from Lamar University (2016).  I am a member of the American School Counselor Association, the Texas Counselor Association, the Texas School Counselor Association, and the Texas Association for Multicultural Counseling and Development.  I have been employed by Willis ISD for 10 years and in Education for over 20 years working across Texas and in Japan as an Elementary teacher in various grades, and a Special Education teacher at all levels.

Earning my Masters in School Counseling gave me a working knowledge of various counseling theories and techniques to address and support students with various emotional, behavioral and social needs.  I work tirelessly to improve my ability to empower others by helping them improve self-worth and confidence. I have been described as a creative, adaptable and understanding professional. I enjoy using humor and compassion in professional relationships.  I enjoy capitalizing on others strengths to help them to grow academically, socially and professionally.
