Mrs. Jessie Gilliland, Counselor

This will be Mrs. Gilliland's fifth year here in Willis ISD and her fifth year at Lynn Lucas Middle School and she is very excited! This will be the start of her 15th year in education. She is very excited to be a counselor here at Lynn Lucas! She loves working with young adults to help them reach their full potential emotionally and academically.

She previously taught 8th grade ELA at Lucas 2018-2019. She also taught 7th grade ELA at Brabham from 2016-2018. She previously taught 7th and 8th grade English Language Arts and Reading at New Caney ISD at White Oak Middle School.

Mrs. Gilliland is from Houston, but has been a resident of Willis for the past 13 years. She graduated from Sam Houston State University in May of 2007, where she obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Academic Studies and a minor in English Language Arts and Reading. She also obtained a Master's Degree in Education Counseling from The University of Saint Thomas, Houston in December of 2015. She completed her LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) courses from Lamar University and is currently working on gaining hours for her LPC licence. She has been married to her husband for 12 years and they enjoy hunting, fishing, and being outdoors! She has a son named Stephen Joseph who was born in October of 2018.
