    1st & 2nd 9 Weeks:

     

    Music Literacy - Students can demonstrate knowledge of rhythm, including whole notes, half notes, quarter notes, paired and single eighth notes, sixteenth notes, syncopated patterns and corresponding rests, and varied meters, using standard terminology

     

    Music Literacy - Students can identify the key and intended part (individual notes and intervals) using solfege and Curwen hand signs

     

    Music Literacy - Increase student automaticity with rhythmic and intervallic speed and accuracy through regimented rehearsal

     

    Expression - Student can demonstrate correct intonation, appropriate phrasing, and appropriate dynamics

     

    Historical and Cultural Relevance - compare and contrast music by genre, style, culture, and historical period

    Critical Evaluation and response - Students listen to, respond to, and evaluate music and musical performances in both formal and informal settings
