Casey Buaas - Varsity Head Coach

Coach Buaas is entering his 3rd year at Willis High School and 14th year coaching overall. He grew up in the Austin area in Dripping Springs where he played football and baseball. 

Coach Buaas had the opportunity to continue his baseball career at the collegiate level   He first attended Angelina Jr. College 2001-2003.  He made the Junior College All-Star team in the spring of 2003.  Coach Buaas finished his collegiate career at Texas A&M Corpus Christi 2003-2005 playing for the late Coach Hector Salinas.

After graduating college Coach Buaas started his teaching and coaching career at Dripping Springs ISD where he coached football and baseball for 2 years.  He then took a job at Johnson City ISD teaching and coaching where they won State in baseball in 2011.  Coach Buaas was in Johnson City for 7 years with 4 of those as the Head Baseball Coach.  He then took his career to Lake Travis ISD for 2 years coaching football and baseball where they won State in football in 2016.

Casey is married to Brittany and they just had their first child, a baby girl named Hartley. He is excited about the opportunity to be in Willis and looking forward to the upcoming season.

Brett Taff - Varsity Assistant Coach

Coach Taff is entering his 2nd year at Willis High School and 3rd year coaching overall. He is the Varsity Assistant Baseball Coach. In the Fall, Coach Taff is the Varsity Wide Receivers coach.

 

Before coming to Willis this year, Coach Taff taught and coached in Cleveland where he was a Junior High Coach as well as Varsity Assistant Baseball Coach. 

 

Coach Taff had the opportunity to play at two different colleges, Lamar University and Austin College. He finished his career at Austin College where he won a batting title his senior year.

 

Brett is married to the love of his life, Jaylin, and has a 1 dog, Paisley. He is excited about the opportunity to be in Willis and looking forward to the upcoming season. GO KATS!
