Willis DECA Students Advance to State

The Willis DECA Chapter had seven individuals test their business related knowledge against other high schools in the Houston area. All seven performed well in their competitions and qualified to advance to the state competition to be held in San Antonio February 23-25.

Willis ISD Hosts Area UIL Academic Tournament

Willis High School hosted an area UIL Academic tournament at the campus on Sat., Jan. 14. The event is held yearly to raise money for scholarships for Willis’ UIL competitors. Volunteers from other campuses, as well as former UIL competitors, help make this day a success.

Willis ISD’s six constables were sworn in Tuesday by newly-elected Pct. 1 Constable, Phillip Cash. Serving Willis ISD are Lt. Leslee Zemlicka, Sgt. Jackuie De la Cruz, and Deputies Bob Barrett, Wayne McCaffrey, Jerry Durrenberger and Bill Burnett.

Willis ISD is proud to announce the December Students of the Month. The elementary honoree is Marian Mock, a fifth-grade student at Meador Elementary; and the secondary honoree is Ze’Avon Lefton, an eighth-grade student at Lynn Lucas Middle School.
