If your child does not know their addition and subtraction cards by memory (not counting on fingers) then they will need to practice at home until they are learned. Believe me, learning multiplication and division will be so much easier already knowing their addition and subtraction. I have links posted for free flash cards for your convenience.
Even though I am moving on from teaching measurement the end of October, there will be measurement learning centers set up in my classroom until the end of the school year, for constant review. The TAKS test has many measurement type questions and my students will be able to breeze through that portion of the test. Some flash cards have been created for our class, for measurement review and I will be glad to make you a printout for home practice.
November 2nd we began multiplication and division by learning the tables and families. Please work with your child at home with worksheets, additional fact sheets and flash cards so that they will have the knowledge base they need for the many word problems they will be working. Do not be surprised if they ask for beans to put into groups. Also, below I have posted a link for free Multiplication Flash Cards and a division table.
We finally received our Math Consumables and I will be sending homework sheets on a regular bases, which will either be a review of what is being taught that day, or a quick reminder of what they have learned. Either way, please make sure that they are working these problems to the best of their abilities. If for any reason you have any questions about any assignment please call me at 936-788-4833 for clarification and additional instructions.
