*** Important Information for the Willis ISD community *** Willis ISD's Drug Testing Program Information TEA TOLL-FREE HOTLINE FOR EVACUEES AND RETIRED TEXAS TEACHERS AND LOUISIANA TEACHERS The Texas Education Agency is operating a toll-free hotline over the holiday weekend to assist parents and educators meet the needs of students evacuated from Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama due to Hurricane Katrina. The toll-free hotline number is is 800-957-5109. This 800 number will be manned by Texas Education Agency staff from 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, Sunday and Monday (Labor Day). The 800 number will also be in operation Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Additionally, the Texas Education Agency has established a special webpage with Frequently Asked Questions documents for parents and educators. The webpage includes email addresses for retired Texas teachers who are interested in helping with teaching needs, and individuals inquiring about donating school supplies. Links to this information are available on the Texas Education Agency homepage: www.tea.state.tx.us. On Tuesday, September 6th, Commissioner Neeley will release a toll-free number for Louisiana teachers who are seeking employment in Texas schools. This toll-free number will also be manned from 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday beginning Tuesday, September 6th. This information will be posted on the TEA website. |
